Science Olympiad For Class 8 is competitive examination that is prepared with the aim of training student’s basic scientific knowledge for higher classes. As per NEP (2020), NCF (2023), NCERT and CBSE guidelines, National and various State Boards for the convenience of schools and students some changes or reduction etc in the syllabi will be seen in the actual question papers.
Every section discussed in the science olympiad helps the students in one or the other way in other competitive examinations.
Participation in the preparation for the Science olympiad for class 8 familiarizes the students with setting time management and competition, which is important when studying at higher level. These exams enables students to evaluate their performance at school, city, state, national and even at the international level.

SOF conducts National Science Olympiad with the intention to find out the scholars in science. The exam is conducted in two phases: Level-1 and Level-2. The questions asked in the exam of National Science Olympiad of class 8 have been prepared according to the curriculum of different states. The level-1 NSO exam consists of a total 50 multiple choice questions from the 4 parts: Logical Reasoning, Science and Achievers .

NOTE
It has been proven that Science olympiad syllabus for class 8 is proficient enough to enrich the conceptual knowledge of the student. Studying for the Science olympiad class 8 will also help the students learn a number of advanced topics related to various sections of science.

Registration for the NSO exam is typically done through schools. Interested students should contact their school’s coordinator. If the school is not participating, students can register individually through the SOF website.
Any student studying in Class 8 is eligible to participate in the NSO exam. There are no specific qualifications required, and students from CBSE, ICSE, and state boards can all participate.
The NSO exam is usually conducted in November or December each year. The exact date is announced by the SOF and varies slightly depending on the school and location.
