About the Course

Science Olympiad For Class 9 is competitive examination that is prepared with the aim of training student’s basic scientific knowledge for higher classes. As per NEP (2020), NCF (2023), NCERT and CBSE guidelines, National and various State Boards for the convenience of schools and students some changes or  reduction etc in the syllabi will be seen in the actual question papers.

Every section discussed in the science olympiad helps the students in one or the other way in other competitive examinations.

Participation in the preparation for the Science olympiad for class 9 familiarizes the students with setting time management and competition, which is important when studying at higher level. These exams enables students to evaluate their performance at school, city, state, national and even at the international level.

National Science Olympiad For Class 9 Exam Pattern

SOF conducts National Science Olympiad with the intention to find out the scholars in science. The exam is conducted in two phases: Level-1 and Level-2. The questions asked in the exam of National Science Olympiad of class 9 have been prepared according to the curriculum of different states. The level-1 NSO exam consists of a total 50 multiple choice questions from the 4 parts: Logical Reasoning, Science and Achievers .

NOTE

  • The exam carries a total of 60 marks and the duration is 60 minutes. For level-2 NSO exam students have to qualify NSO level-1.

  • The questions in level-I Olympiad exams shall be 60:40 with the current class syllabi and the previous class syllabi, (For example, the questions in class-9 NSO exam shall include 60% questions from class-9 syllabi and 40% from class-8 syllabi.)

  • Questions of the current class level-II Olympiad exams will be set only from the current class syllabus.

  • Questions in Achievers Section shall be from the portion only from the syllabus of the current class.
